This USMC shirt has not a good print for the Mitchell pattern, in comparison to a genuine Mitchel prints. Also, there was no contract for USMC shirts type P58 in this camo, means pure fantasy stuff. Only for devoted brand enthusiasts ;)
Very cool jacket indeed, however, this mouton looks strange in my opinion [the fur looks a bit too "thick" like mostly on every modern repro - even these from the "upper shelf"]. Don't get me wrong cool G1 :)
In the USA it is not a rare thing to find jacket like this one on various places. This one was at a well known portal ;) where from time to time a real gems can be discovered.
It was a very good deal, funny that this jacket was waiting for a buyer for such a long time :) What was the final price that you got Jorgeen for this piece?
Hey Shanghai-Mayne, why cropped image ;) he went to gulag, as was a member of the Totenkopf Division, which was well known for committing war crimes on the eastern front [especially under the Eicke command]. Usually, members of the 3rd SS Panzer Division Totenkopf were not taken into...

Hey Dandan, $500.00 CAD is way too much for g1 like this one [looks like it requires replacing or fixing the waistband]. In case you are not in rush on the beloved EBay you would be able to find a way better g1, also a cheaper one.
This is a fantastic Cagleco [cool that dark fur not a ginger one] with a USMC provenience. The back "Bacardi" patch looks like a USCG with personalized crew names, very interesting patch. Worthy to look for more details. Outstanding jacket, congrats!
I believe that this blackish fur on...
Who are "they"? Any valid examples [contract ones] of modern G1s where goat hide was used? This would be interesting As far as I'm aware, there is no goat hide mentioned in MIL-DTL-7823F 9 June 2020, only reference for this can be found in KK-L-170C. As per current mil-specification, no goat...
Hey Skyhawk,
It is interesting. As per MIL-DTL-7823F [9 June 2020] you can find: FEDERAL SPECIFICATIONS - KK-L-170 - Leather, Kidskin, or Goatskin, Chrome-Tanned but under DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SPECIFICATIONS a mil-spec for the leather points to MIL-DTL-32092 - Leather, Cattlehide, Deerskin and...
Regarding late G1 - as noted in MIL-J-7823E_AMENDMENT-3, the type of leather used previously, where goat hides specification [KK-L-170] has been removed from the MIL-J-7823E [http://everyspec.com/MIL-SPECS/MIL-SPECS-MIL-J/MIL-J-7823E_9437/] specification in favor of cattle hides.
