Thanks for the suggestions... I did include a pic of the main zipper pull (TALON) and I only found the two tags on the jacket - one on the liner and one in the pocket ... both pics are attached too
I just received this vintage steer hide jacket from a friend. Unfortunately it did not have a label other than the “genuine a steerhide” tag. The main zip is TALON and the snaps are RAU Providence Rhode Island Fastener Company. There is also a tag in the left hand-warmer pocket with the number...
Just got the replacement buckles from the manufacturer in Germany (Gutos).
I stitched in one of the hooks (bottom hook in the pic) and reinforced all the stitches for the belts and the hooks. I decided to use all new fasteners so they all look uniform.
You guys are the best! It's incredible the amount of info the collective has. I searched all over the we and couldn't find this info...how the heck did you do it? What are the tricks?

Looking at trying to identify the following vintage padded cafe racer with a three snap collar, offset prym zippers and triple Gutos W Germany waste buckles. The two chest zips and the two sleeve zips are unmarked but have the letter "N" is stamped on the back.
The lining appears to be faux...
Thanks for the info Mike. I've been telling people it was a vintage WWII jacket....I guess I'm wrong.
Any idea how old it really is...I will have to tell another story.

This is a very heavy and thick brown bomber(?) jacket with dark brown sheep collar, brown stretch cuffs and waste, epaulettes, deep snap front pockets and slash pockets and large vintage talon zipper. The lining is olive diamond pattern nylon with the tag missing. There is a tag inside...
