Interesting points, a G-1 looks a hell of a lot more complex than an A-2 but the price difference is negligible. Still good deals on the civilian jackets regardless.
I wonder why the gaping price difference between this and the half belt?? This seems like a more complex design-though I could be wrong. Or is horsehide more expensive than goatskin?
I wonder why the big price
I kinda wish there was a bit more transparency on the subject, like I get the appeal and prestige associated with 'made in the UK' but if you found some great people in Pakistan to make your jackets, why not say so and be proud about it instead of keeping it quiet?
Does anybody have any idea what these are? They appear from time to time, have a uniform design (but different hides) and someone suggested they might be Czech air force. Removable wool lining and moleskin lining underneath. Note the sleeve tightening tabs are on opposite sides!
Interesting-In a way it is like a spiritual child of the late war flight jacket which has synthetic fur-not sure what the original material was, some kind of velour.
Hey guys, I recently bought a jacket that turned out to have a flimsy chain puller. I tried tightening the links, but the chain is just not up to repeated use.
You guys seem to be the experts when it comes to jacket hardware. I am sort of examining my options here-I could either use one of...

Of course-in a 'smart casual' work environment where for examples chinos and polos are worn it is more than ok to wear a neat leather jacket-I think we can look at it this way: In the 50s leather jackets and jeans were right at the bottom of the formality scale, whereas now there are a bunch of...
I don't think a leather jacket can ever be considered formal-I don't have a problem with that observation. Just because you can wear a tie with it doesn't make it formal-smart casual at best. The guys wearing A2 or G1 derived bomber jackets with a tie in the 50s would never wear one to an...
Being an aviation history fanatic, I always liked the look of these. It is important to note they were originally a part of a flight suit with matching trousers.
To those puzzled by the collar shape-In my opinion it is derived from the Wehrmacht greatcoat and other more traditional coat collars...
You guys make a strong case, the truth is I started out saying I am not picky, but I am here on this forum discussing leather jackets, so perhaps I am ;)
Thanks. How do you pay in installments?
I know about Einstein's jacket, he wore it all the time didn't he? One durable jacket so that he...
