I bought my first ELC in 1990 (their house A2 in seal), and visited the workshop in Ivybridge a few times over the years.

    Information of this G-1 Jacket

I'd say: Avirex G1 lookalike, more 'inspired by the G1 design than a repro(duction) of the G1

What got you interested in A2 type Jackets

Same with me; I built my first plastic model airplanes when living in Brazil, near Rio de Janeiro, back in 1967- 1970. The very first one was - if I remember correctly - a Revell Focke Wulf 200, a B17E came next. Then reading about WW2, picking up an avid interest in the air warfare of the...

Cool jacket, great review, and historical sleuthing, together with great photos (as usual :-)) which together make a very interesting thread!

WW2 US FLYING EQUIPMENT VS RAF EQUIPMENT

I would think heating the cockpits of single engine fighters and their reconnaisance derivatives wouldn't be much of a problem. I always thought that that was why you don't see many fighter pilots in B3's and the like. Even B-17 and B24 pilots weren't dressed in heavy sheepskin, as the cockpits...

WW2 US FLYING EQUIPMENT VS RAF EQUIPMENT

Description of combat clothing, March 1944

Hi guys, I thought you might find this of interest. Recently I got a copy of "A Reason To Live" by John Harold Robinson. The copy I got was originally from the Library of Congress - but withdrawn, as it is stamped on the title page. The book is really mostly the diary of JHR, decribing his...

    ELC Werber A2 re-vamp

I have one of the first batch of ELC's, mine numbered 100. It has aged in a terrific way! I'd love to show you pics, but I'll get around to that in a couple of days.

What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

I'm cosy in my ELC B10 most of the time, but the B3 is within reach, as there's frost in the air - and I have to cheer my girls at the hockey field today (which means standing mostly still for 75 minutes :)
