Taken at YAM (Yorkshire Air Museum) earlier this year.Great Looking crew photo!!
Firstly, I went for simplicity hence the Flt/Lt braid. But after YAM I decided that for this 'Role' I preferred Flt/Sgt rank.Hi Steve
Thank you for the photos, looking really good and now I am sure its SOF to get the BD from as I am not aware of panthers
Who sewed the badges on for you? think I will just go for pilot officer so I don't have too much sewing to do lol though will need to get a officers cap, do you know best lplace to get them?
Also do you have or had dealings with Steve Silburn? wondering what he is supplying these days and prices
Regards
John
Absolutely love the photo's and the flight uniforms, the cost of which seems very reasonable.
By the way .........what's a Spit going for these days?
Firstly, I went for simplicity hence the Flt/Lt braid. But after YAM I decided that for this 'Role' I preferred Flt/Sgt rank.
I bought the stripes and crowns from a private seller. Andrew Swatland very kindly did the needle work for me.
As for a cap, I would suggest asking if anyone has one in your size on a WW2 reenactment forum or a similar FB page.
Over the last 15 or so years I have had several dealings with Stephen Silburn, all have been a pleasure. My last being earlier this year when I bought my Type 'B' flying helmet from him.
I have also had goggles and other items re furbished by him.
The helmet is a Stephen Silburn as is the mask. The mic is by Tony Sach, my Mk111 goggles are Canadian and I believe Andrews are British Mk111's.
