The leather is in great shape. JC will make a pattern from it.

When I sent a message to the seller, asking for measurements, he responded with measurements the were in line with a size 42, as against the tagged size 44. Did you measure the jacket, and if so, what did you come up with?

Isn't it pretty typical for a '40s 44 to be more of a current-day 42?

In comparison, my old Avirex HH (MacArthur) size 44, but fits like a modern 42, is 23.75" across the chest.

Back in the early '90s when Avirex was selling these they always suggested sizing up to match your modern size. I was a 42 at the time, so I bought a 44. Now that I'm a 44, the Avirex is tight with a regular shirt or sweater under it.
