It is always a pleasure to find jackets that defy the passage of time. I have seen repros with more aging than this WWII example.

This A-2 is 1 of 50,000 made by J. A. Dubow Mfg. Co. under contract No. W535 A.C. 27798 awarded in fiscal year, 1942.

The condition of this jacket is amazing, considering it is over 80 years old. All parts are original to the jacket.

This A-2 belonged to J. I. Small. Unfortunately, I have not found any info about him.

Left chest depicts a diamond-shaped, hand-drawn silk patch with the 6th Tow Target Squadron emblem. This squadron was based in at Biggs Airfield (El Paso, TX) flying B-26 Marauder.

Say no more fellas, enjoy it.

Regards,
Jorge

You are a talented jacket photographer and of course finder. Always with the great jackets! I think that this jacket is what many would have looked like if packed away and never used from 1945 onwards. A lot of the ageing we see on jackets is probably post war. Rare to see a really messed up jacket in period photos although it's not unheard of. This jacket has obviously been used- you can see this in how the lining's worn through by the hanger- but it still looks almost mint. I have to wear a repro quite a bit to get this effect if at all. I think a lot of originals looked like THIS during the war.

Thanks for showing us this stuff!
