Mold on leather.

Hi All,

Just a quick question, if I have mold on the inside of some leather (they are boots). It’s when the leather gets wet and the mold comes back when they are drying out.

Have you any ideas how to permanently kill this so I don’t have the issue?

Some people suggest rubbing alcohol on a cloth and cleaning the inside of the boot with this.

I look forward to any suggestions

That’s a good idea. It’s literally only in this one pair of boots. I got them secondhand

so I am going to do a solution of 50% surgical spit and 50% water. I’ll then apply this with a sponge to the inside and let it dry.

I’ll report back.

Are you letting them air out between uses and storing them in a damp free environment?

If it’s on the inside of the boot try wiping the area down with white vinegar occasionally. See if that helps .

A bit of swimming pool water ( chlorine, diluted )… and its gone for good..
