Here's something I found interesting regarding a repro of a Rough Wear pocket.
Reading Marc's review of the Real McCoy's Rough Wear 27752, he states the following:
"The pockets are proper in stitching, placement, and mostly in pattern. The pocket flap shape is not quite representative of Rough...
Andrew,
Looking at the Flight Suits A-2, the pockets appear to be the shape of the Dubow, yet they look like they might be slightly larger (but I could be wrong, I'm just going by photos).
The authentic Dubow pocket looks rather small, but I guess that also depends on the particular jacket...
What is the correct width and length for the original Dubow style pocket? Isn't it more of a square shape?
Also, is there any particular original A-2 manufacturer that made the pockets larger than the typical size?
Thanks,
Striker
Lost Worlds talks about how the leather used on their A-2 requires the wearer to break it in, so I was curious if anyone here has ever owned a Lost Worlds A-2 and just how much break in it required. I guess the general opinion is that it is too thick and too stiff? I think it states the A-2 is...
Does anyone own an A-2 made by Lost Worlds? What do you think of the leather?
Also, is it still possible to obtain John Chapman's CD?

Is 3 ounce - 3 1/2 ounce hide thickness (Horsehide or Cowhide) preferred? Or would going a bit thicker, say, 4 ounce to 4 1/2 ounce be even more preferred?
Thanks,

Sometimes originals in photos, when looking at the back, the box X appears to vary in size.
Acme Depot shows an example of 'bar-tacking' instead of the typical box X (it's a Bronco A-2). They also show an example of no X inside the boxes (Doniger).
Are there any other interesting variations...
Fleet,
The jacket looks like a great fit.
Just for reference, what is the:
1) Across chest measurement (armpit to armpit)
2) Back length measurement (bottom of back of collar down to the end of the knit waistband)
3) Across shoulders
Thanks,
Striker
On original A-2's, is there a lot of variation regarding the leather hanger?
Is there a typical size that is found on most A-2's?
1) What is the typical length and width of the leather hanger?
2) What is the typical shape of the box X stitching (a square box or a rectangular box)?
Thanks...
I have never owned a G-1, always preferred the A-2. However, I started taking another look at the G-1.
I like the G-1, but the only thing is I have read in some posts regarding the G-1's 'batwing' problem.
Is this due to the bi-swing back of the G-1? Some motorcycle jackets also have bi-swing...
Are the epaulets on all original A-2's sewn onto the jacket by the "X" stitching only, or did some manufacturers sewn them onto the jacket by the "BOX" that contains the "X" stitch? Or, did some sew onto the jacket by both the "BOX" and the "X"?
Thanks,
Striker
