Awesome these photos of the Mosquito, it's a very nice aircraft.
It had excellent performance. So much so that Germans were inspired by it to build a very similar plane (also all in wood) : the Focke-Wulf Ta 154 ... "Moskito"

Beautiful, and interesting. But too little, too late... And the Ta152 was already one of the fastest high-altitude piston-driven fighter of the war.

Wow, what a resource - thanks for sharing! Quite a number of talented photographers worked for the FSA in the 30's and 40's documenting the US.
Here's a completely unrelated image, but cool to see a detailed photo of New Zealand deck hands with a Grumman Hellcat.

I knew this collection but I couldn't find it anymore until yesterday. These photos are an incredibly immersive testimony to America in the 1940s. In addition, they are "artistically" superb.
