Just picked this up in a charity shop for a fiver. It's a hardwood and brass model of an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley, and I though it was quite a nice thing. No idea as to age or provenance, but there were a number of Whitley squadrons in Cornwall during the War, flying with Coastal Command out of bases like St.Eval and Davidstow Moor. It seems fairly old, so I'd like to think it was made during the War or shortly thereafter. It's quite nicely shaped, captring the Whitley design quite well. The turrets and propellors revolve.
