Mine are BR, but I would happily wear an Eastman. I think the UK prices new are about the same, but, from what I can tell, BR aren't that easy to buy new in the UK at the moment. On the other hand, you could always buy one from Japan via something like Rakuten, and your size is more in line with what's available from there.
In your size range a very good to unused BR would be hundreds of dollars cheaper than a new ELC. You would die miserable if you were waiting for a second hand ELC B-10.
If you were willing to compromise a little authenticity for a much better price, you may want to take a look at some of the Chinese made B-10 jackets. Some folks here on the Forum are saying good things about both the Bronson and the Bob Dong labels. I personally have a B-10 and a B15A by Bronson, and I'm here to tell you they are both damn fine jackets.
I have had both a BR and an ELC B-10. I still have the ELC. I love this jacket. I bought a 40 Long and its the one jacket, that I have kept after all these years. Highly recommended. The BR was top notch for sure, but the ELC was just 'that' much more authentic (as Grant said) and comfortable for me... the fit of the BR was also slightly roomier (size 40 for me).
I also preferred that the ELC knits match the cotton drill, whereas the BR's knits were darker.
