Awesome pictures, awesome aiprlane and Awesome jacket, Dmitry. What's the story of that Gustav? Shot down on the eastern front and recovered 60-70 years later?

This G2 served with JG5 "Eismeer" squadron. During one of the battles, the fighter was hit and made an emergency landing on the ice of the lake, and then went under water. Years later, this Messerschmitt Bf-109G2 was raised from the bottom of a lake near the Kola Peninsula in 2019. It has been restored and is now part of the collection.

Thanks Dmitry. It would certainly not have been the first Me-109 that crash-landed on a frozen lake on the eastern front, sank, lay for years at the bottom of it, only to be raised to the surface decades later. I even know of some specimens (not necessarily Messerschmits) that have been restored to airworthy condition after being raised from the bottom of lakes........
