Spot on fit!
Damn nice looking jacket that!
Thanks.. In all honesty, this jacket fits like it was made to measure for me. Trim, but comfortable. Kind of has this 'trim-but-fits-well' vibe going on, only a bit more forgiving from how the pic looks to me:
I've been comparing the construction and stitching between some of my 'better' jackets, and the folks at Aero who patterned, cut, and stitched this jacket together did an exceptional job. Whoever stitched it together surely had many years of experience with M422-A's, G-1's etc.. Again, just exceptional. This is a jacket that won't be leaving my stable, PERIOD! (barring some extreme weight-gain or such... ) I consider myself VERY fortunate, and grateful to have become it's caretaker.
EDIT: Regarding the stitching.... Here's the back-of-the-collar detailing : (Lighter brown color must be from the flash)
Once it gets some wear and the leather relaxes like in the period pics it's really going to look the goods Techno. I'd say it has the potential of being one of those first ones you grab when you head out the front door
I'd second that Tim, ANJ3's just ooze style and comfort, you want to wear it even when its 40'C
I used to have trouble wearing only a t-shirt and a pair of undies when it was over 40 back in Melbourne
Steve will be typing .... pictures !!!!
It's lucky I'm not there anymore then, everyone's eyes will be spared that hideous visage!
Tim that is the perfect AN-J-3, windflap, epaulettes and collar are spot on. Now the hunt is on. ;-)
Christine started at Aero in 1986, yes many years of experience
Tim, does your jacket have the inside pocket?
Most of the AAF AN-J-3 versions (exterior wind flap) won't have factory installed inside pockets due to the lack of facings, like the A-2. This Aero has none as well. Whenever I have the knits replaced, since there will be access into the lining, I will more than likely go for some sort of 'rigger-pocket' for convenience, although I've been wearing jackets without any on-and-off for years, and get along pretty well...
just got my ELC M422 from a fellow forum member
it`s 33 degree Celsius here in Mexico - I wear her anyway
and as you see i`m really happy to finally have her here
sorry for the crappy pics guys
first impression of the jacket ain`t that bad - need to check for details on the WE
Not wearing it yet.. but will do once the zippers done....
Nice one Thomas!
Sweet looking M422a Thomas!
Fit is spot on and looks like Gary used some damn good mouton for the collar.
The jacket looks the best when your Pan Head is under you.....
What’s the WE?
Weekend probably Burt
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Looks like my past WE’s of Johnny Walker Black Label and Chivas Regal are catching up with me
Yeah but you had bags of fun doing it Burt!
