Well-worn ELC Monarch on the bay

Early one with the pocket labels...
The horsehide or the size label?

All 3 of my ELCs (early to mid-age examples) have (had) the size and serial number label -- the horsehide labels came later, after a well-documented blow-up and subsequent hissy-fit.

My Monarch has not been fitted with the Horsehide label..
How old is it? If you know.

FWIW -- neither of my ELC Roughwears had the HH tag either, but they were made before the 90s controversy.

I guess the obvious question is -- and opening that can of worms -- are you sure it's horsehide?

It was Vic's before I bought it in 2019.

It's Warhorse....
If it was put together any time after 1999 (or so) I'm surprised it doesn't have the HH tag.

OTOH, maybe Vic removed it? I (very carefully) removed the non-authentic "made in England" tags from my ELCs.

I see that you can see stray strands from that tag on the eBay jacket -- just left of the spec tag.
