even in the early-mid 60s you could pick up a perfectly servicable a-2, g-1, m series, b-3 etc, at used clothing out lets, and army navy stores for $15-$20, maybe $25 if it was in super nice patched condition. around the early mid 70s, japanese collectors, dealers, and what not, went around the usa to these stores, scooping up vintage levis, wwll leather jackets, and god knows what else. it was like poof, all gone....well not entirely, but the landscape changed and prices for this gear just went up from there.

Try this: 1946 aviation magazine a-6 boots..... Just put a separate year in for each search. 1947 aviation magazine a-6 boots. 1948 aviation magazine a-6 boots..etc

I'm getting what appears to be complete magazines.. All kinds of ads:

Sorry to detract for a moment, but I love the way Silver Surfer makes it sound like the “early-mid 60’s” was like the day before yesterday! As someone born in 1965 that’s a great feeling!
