I'm 1,85 m / 86kg with relatively wide shoulders. My jacket size is something between 42 and 46. I depends on the maker and the jacket type. For example: my eastman A2's are usually 42 but my navy cloth jackets are more 44, and in the case of AVI's M422a I have a 44 and it fits more like a A2 fit, if I would more go after the typical ww2 navy look I would have been better with a 46.
If you order from Morten make sure that you custom size the sleeves.

For Thomas. This photo was taken at the von Tempsky Ranch, Maui, in 1944. It shows pilots from VF-11 Sun Downers with Alexa von Tempsky. My uncle, Lt. James "Bud" Brown, is at far right. He is wearing an M-421a jacket with a Sun Downers patch on it.

While they no longer offer them, if you can find one from “What Price Glory” they had decent looking repros . You can sometimes find them on EBay .

I agree with B-Man2. WPG offered their version some years back (15-20 years ago?). It was labeled as "M-421B". I have 3 originals. 1 from H.L.B. Corp and 2 Blocks. The WPG comes close to the feel of the originals and WPG offered them for under $100. I bought one and liked it so much I bought 2 more. There are a couple on ebay from WPG now. Here's couple photos of one.

Just shifted to other hobbies of painting pics. stopped the clothing fever - but clothing always locate at the back of my heart. Recently (last yr), acquired a pair of fake single stitched levis jacket & jeans ( ~the earliest! 1890) in a local flea mkt . Not sure where to post them here, if allowed, since denim.

Funny enough, I got back here because in a local vintage clothing forum in HK, a poster posted a so familiar table (about M421a) that I suspect it was done by me & therefore I went in here to found out - & it did done by me & in the process I notice this new thread about M421a & so have jammed-in.
