I just looked this up on Amazon, but they only have paperback editions . Do you think the photos contained will still be as clear and as sharp as a hard back copy ?

There is two editions available afaik...the original two volume edition (of which I have the paperback versions) and a newer one that has both earlier volumes in one (this I have in Kindle format)
Dunno if there has ever been a hardback edition...

I too have had one forc20 years or more, I like the piece on how to refinish shearlings jackets using cellulose lacquer.
I get heebie-jeebies just thinking about how flammable that process must have been. But then again, they used to use avgas to wash their class A uniforms because dry cleaning was not always available.
