Very true. I've only patched up one jacket and when it came time to sell it, I lost about 50% of my cost.

I thought about bidding on this jacket as I really like it and I like this contract ( I have a plain GW the same) but in the end I feel that I`m just too old to be wearing jackets with patches on, I was a bit gutted to see the price it sold for though.

I shall have to console myself with the GW Doniger I bought very recently. It`s second hand but the previous owner never wore it as it was too small. I think this is probably one of the necest A2`s I have ever owned, the quality of the workmanship and the hide are top class. The photo doesn`t begin to do it justice.
