Trying to identify patch

I was just sent this by a friend who thinks this is a vintage WWII or Korean War patch from a fighter group. I’ve never seen this before and I have a lot of doubt that it is anything other than a recent artists rendition however I thought I’d run it by you guys and get your thoughts on it.
