The day of the Colonel

The other day was the night of the Generals today is the day of the Colonels.

This is the prototype of BK's new production jacket.
I didn't put it under the Victory hide thread because it's made with premium horsehide, but because don't have any of that left, the production jackets will be made with Victory.

Sean does the layered patches. A guy from this forum does the painted patches and guy outside the forum makes the painted backs.

Name Tag friend deserves a raise! Looks like all sorts of fonts are on the cards? Not just the stamps from the leather stores?
Impressive. And the art guy deserves a pat, oddly enough, on the back!

and the veil of mystery makes it more alluring...

Arthur Lasenby Liberty, owner/proprietor of Liberty & Co. of London.
Back in the day, ca. 1905, he commissioned many famous dec. arts designers (Archibald Knox, CFA Voysey, Arthur Silver, to name but a few), but did not name them.
All items were simply stamped Liberty & Co.
The mystique of the 'Liberty Studio' didn't harm sales.
I tend to agree with Peter, to give the artist credit...

I don't deny the credit and it will be given eventually, just not now that the jacket just got released (or better say pre-released)

this image proves you don't need 'slender' if you get the right size.

Why not get all your ducks in a row with suppliers and crank out some jackets...so 'customers' can advertise for Bill Kelso.
JC (one man on the sewing machine) was able to allow customers to gradually fire up the enthusiasm..and with good success as they,in turn, posted new jackets received and detailed reviews. He didn't need to personally post ads that 'this is coming'..or 'look what's on the drawing board' and 'this is the best in the world' practically every day. I don't get it. The VLJ seems it's becoming an advertising platform for BK..but where are the customer jackets?

thought to help a little, sorry to bother
would love the good name to build up by itself, but it's a long process, i.e. a non affordable luxury these days, in this crisis
gotta help BK a little, show you guys what's available, otherwise the road will be very bumpy
also, posting all these new items on the BK website is costly and takes long time
The case with JC was different. Also JC is no longer one man and is not a small operation any more.
BK is a tiny operation in comparison.

The customers always say they will post reviews and never do...
Also, I don't make reviews because I don't want to sound biased, I just post photos.
I do not wish to comment on the hide this time.

Again, sorry if I bothered and I take your opinion seriously under consideration.

Well..if you're a smaller operation than Goodwear..I don't know what to say.
No wonder the jackets seem few and far between.
I am glad that you don't want to seem bias... :?
..and now I also understand why you use this forum for ads. Money is tight. Why not do it here for free. Good thinking... .

Don't mean to sidetrack, but....Has GW added more jacket makers? Last I heard it was still just John making jackets, working on new designs, taking trips to look for leather suppliers, running the business, dealing with the web site.
As far as I know the only other person working at GW is Vicky.........and she does the clerical/record keeping work.

Even if John has added another jacket maker, I still have to say he was doing a heck of a job turning out jackets when he was by himself. Even before the turn of the year, there seemed to be a new GW jacket owner posting photos/reviews a couple of times a week here and at TFL.
