RNZAF A2/G1 "lovechild" flight jacket

Just got this off fleaBay UK....fresh out the post bag....
It's a rather well made and thoughtfully designed jacket with a rather ugly "flame resistant" leather
I honestly don't know all that much about it unfortunately and I never remember seeing any NZ personell (rotary or fixed wing) in these, so I'm assuming 1995 must have been on the end of the production run.
It's a great fitting jacket but I honestly can't stand the look of the leather since it's got zero character and probably won't develop any as time goes on
I do love that it's a not so common officially issued leather flight jacket and the A2 look with G1 comfortability makes it a comfortable yet stylish jacket

Looks to be lamb or goat skin, and kinda like something avirex (us) produced in the same time period. If as ya say, a good fit, it will serve ya well as an every day beater.

Interesting jacket ….. didn’t realize that the NZ Air Force or military were being issued those. Looking at some of your photos I think the leather will develop into something you’d be happy with, after a lot of wear and use. I think it’s the first time a jacket like that has been posted on VLJ .
Thanks for showing it to us .

I have seen one of these once before in a musty and dusty disposal store when I was in the UK (considering that NZ is "right next door" I am amazed that I haven't seen more here in Australia)

And I finally got to wear it tonight out to dinner......the sleeves slide up my arm way too far for my liking.
Looks like it's going to be rehomed
