The 500 units did have on the front the Ray Ban logo which is not period correct as we know.

Now that would really be something, if they reissued the AN6531!

Completely sold out, but I bet Ray Ban was testing the waters to see if they would sell.
I have a feeling they will release them again in larger quantities now that they’ve seen success in the market place.

    Hey Greg,
You can buy the Ray Ban replacement hook temples and viola you'll have a pair that are sold out.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/401464886535

Here's my pair AN6531-1 made by American Optical.

Thanks Smithy, I wear them every now and then but keep the original leather case stored away.

Or I should just buy an outdoorsman, which is basically a modern issue of the same style. Not sure about the sweatbar though. Thing is, I already own a pair of classic aviators with polarized lenses which I really like, so the "upgrade" may be more sensible.

The Randolph Aviators are nice too. This style dates back to before Randolph was in business, but they have the contracts now.

This style is a bit sturdier and maybe slightly more practical. I realize these are from a different era, but then again they go better with a F-14 impression.

Bringing this back to the Ray Bans...this link has some interesting historical information (also checkout part #5), including this official comparison:
