Carl,
I believe point 4. Is what you are looking for.
http://www.vintageleatherjackets.org/threads/classfieds-guidelines.19784/
4. Your account must be at least 90 days and have 25 posts to participate in the buy/sell section.
I’m still not at all convinced we’ve got this rule right.

It’s been in place for some months now but we still get occasional daft posts, including one in Russian now (albeit not selling) in a very disrespectful place IMHO and requests for valuations. That Russian post should be deleted, btw IMHO.

And yet here we have Carl, a gentleman who’s contributed hugely since he became a member on Saturday. Looking just now he has 88 posts and 94 likes and a collection of USAAF gear many here would give their right arm for, but he can’t trade for another 85 or so days. IMHO this rule means we’re cutting our nose off to spite our face and not doing anyone any favours.

Sorry guys, if I live to be 1000 I’ll never understand why we did this to ourselves. If a post with a crappy mall jacket appears just look the other way and delete the membership of offenders if it’s really bad.

We’ll have to agree to differ on this point Steve.

However I do agree that Carl needs a dispensation. And so should anyone who indisputably otherwise proves their interest and quality of their knowledge.

Thankyou for the kind words , very humbling indeed fellow members .Im not asking for any
I asked the original question because i was too blind to see the answer in the classifieds guidelines !
If i may be as bold to add my thoughts on to the ruling ?
Yes , i do agree with a "probationary " period for any new member whether it be like we have here or just maybe the one rule rather than the 2 .
Im not asking or seeking any dispensation at all . Rules are rules , im too long in the tooth to start jumping up and down having a temper tamtrum because im not getting my own way :D
Again, thankyou for the kind words of support.

It is those who are here for more than the quick fix that we want to attract. Seems it is working. If someone has nothing to contribute but trolling or selling junk we have lost nothing by not drawing them IMO. Carl is proof of this.

We collect the same stuff - not just jackets - so you are fine in my book. Plus I know you from USMF. All my photos are gone thanks to Photobucket so it's good to see the stuff again.

I can't wait till I can participate too. Well, I don't have much to sell, but looking forward to having a chance to buy something one day if anything pops up in a 36R.
