Here are some patches I painted, some are copies of real AAF or Navy units, some are ones I just made up for the heck of it , (Mighty Mouse) or I thought it was hilarious, (Pluto pissing on the rising sun). Since I was teaching myself how to paint, I practiced painting pin-up girls.
I took some of my practice patches and deliberately spindled, crumpled and stretched them to see how the paint to leather bond would be, pretty much nothing bad happened, the acrylic paint stuck, didn't crack, peel or flake off. I poured leather conditioner over the experimental painted patches, the different leather conditioners had no apparent effect.
