It's not often you see the jacket and trousers for sale. although there are no measurements given the jacket looks to be a small size and the seller does not take Paypal. I like the hanger to suggest provenance!

So ebay.de doesn't have the same rules that other eBay's have ie. that you have to include Paypal as a payment option?

Offering PayPal is only a requirement on eBay.com, Australia, and UK ... and there's a bunch of other eBays.

Beginning in August 2007, eBay required listings in "Video Games" and "Health & Beauty" to accept its payment system PayPal and sellers could only accept PayPal for payments in the category "Video Games: Consoles". Starting January 10, 2007, eBay said sellers can only accept PayPal as payment for the categories "Computing > Software", "Consumer Electronics > MP3 Players", "Wholesale & Job Lots > Mobile & Home Phones", and "Business, Office & Industrial > Industrial Supply / MRO". eBay announced that starting in March 2008, eBay had added to this requirement that all sellers with fewer than 100 feedbacks must offer PayPal and no merchant account may be used as an alternative. This is in addition to the requirement that all sellers from the United Kingdom have to offer PayPal.

Further, and as noted below, it is a requirement to offer Paypal on all listings in Australia and the UK.

I never knew that there were trousers that went with these Luftwaffe jackets. You learn something new every day...

We were the first Country Ebay tried to make all payments exclusively via Paypal. This was brought in over a year ago. The would pull any auction that offered any other alternative method of payment, and they did this to a bunch of mine. It was only after our Office of Fair trading stepped in (due to massive public outcry) and deemed it unfair that Ebay did not continue to ban other forms of payment. You must now accept and be registered forPaypal but you can accept via a direct deposit to your bank. They are still heavy with the way you offer alternatives however and most people have just given in. It's fabulous for international deals but pointless for domestic ones.

The sneaky buggers have all but won anyway with the restructuring of the checkout making it almost imossible for any successful winner (especially a newbie) to drill through to get the sellers direct deposit bank details with funneling links that take you through to Paypal. I have tried many times to send my deposit details to the buyer in the initial email but they always take the easy option to pay with Paypal, same price for the buyer but Ebay gets a cut.

I can´t see any stitch holes where the eagle and rank insignia should have been and no eppaulettes. The Luftwaffe tolerated when pilots privately purchased their leather jackets and wear them. The Luftwaffe never issued leather clothing to their pilots officially. But what the LW wanted their pilots to do ist to wear the LW and rank insignia.
Have a close look onto the left cuff. There´s no typical wear caused by having the left arm on the throttle. ;) Of course only clues but I´m sceptical that this suit has ever been worn by a LW pilot or in a cockpit at all.

So we have another is it or is it not a Luftwaffe jacket debate. Has anyone owned or even seen a Lufwaffe jacket with real providence ? Why did those pesky Germans not issue leather jackets with labels to save us all the headaches and debate ? It would put Colvinex out of buisness for a start. It just shows how flawed ebay is that such a crook can prosper.

Indeed, it shows how screwed up they are in their policies and rules, inconveniencing, driving away and ripping off good sellers, yet giving disreputable sellers a platform to conduct business.

The Luftwaffe did issue leather outfits. Look for the Rb nr.that most Reichs gear was tagged with.
The gray jackets seem to have been issued in quite large numbers as there are numerous examples around.
This style also came in brown.
There where also more specialist leather outfits issued to jet pilots.
The last pics show the U-boat type jacket.

Don't rate the pose much....
No, I have my Radjacke now, and for once I am cured or immunised against this style of jacket so I don't need another one. I wish I could say the same for B-3's, Irvin's etc etc,.....
The Jet jacket is pretty cool though. I missed a one off repro on ebay last year.

According to my grand uncle who was a pilot in the luftwaffe from 1941 to 1945 during WWII (and survived) the luftwaffe did not issue leather jackets for pilots officially. The Wehrmacht did hand out jackets for other parts of the german army like the navy and tankcrews. That´s why the most jackets are tagged and so many jackets were gray because the were supposed to go to the u- boat crews. But they did not go to the Luftwaffe officially but traded from other german army members. You will see high ranked officers or aces with leathterjackets mostly, because they were able to afford them, but not the lower ranks. The Luftwaffe pilots´ official clothing was a simple flight suit.
