Today marks the 79th anniversary of Operation Chastise, RAF Bomber Command's raid to take out the dams in Germany's Ruhr valley.

Carried out by Bomber Command's 617 Squadron (known as "The Dam Busters"), 53 of the men in the picture above lost their lives in the raid.
