Nylon Jackets from DD & GW

What are BCGs?

I don't mind a shortish flight jacket, I own a g8 Wep and my N-2a isn't that much longer either. But I also wear proper high rise chinos.

Dave, both these jackets are exceptional! As someone whose arguably more of a fan of cloth/ nylon jackets, you and John have excelled anything else available on the marketing in my humble opinion and I hope to own both one day?

BCG=“Birth Control Glasses”. Typical of the ones issued by the gov’t to private soldiers in basic training.

High rise chino's, arm't they what were originally normal rise as opposed to most of today's lo-rise versions! The ones that kept your shirt tucked in too!!

Gents,

Here is my latest endeavor, again in the Navy blue nylon realm. Albert Turner B-15 C (Mod) with original NOS Brass Conmar #10 main zipper, and blackened brass Conmar zipper to the cigarette pocket. MASH Co. Japan name tag with pilot wings, and applied using original NOS Segma snaps by United Carr. Again 3" addition to the length is the only nod to the modern, and makes this a very wearable jacket indeed.

Hi, lovely jackets but can you make in the original dimensions without the 3” added?

The extra length is no good to me as I do wear high waisted pants and measure 5’ 8”

Cheers

Another rare bird added to my stable.

This time is a B-15C from Monarch. This is apparently a 1950 contract for Monarch and is the only one I can find proof of that used the older Olive Drab #3 nylon shell, as seen on the earlier L-2 contracts by American Pad & Textile as well as Reed Products. NOS Crown zips for the main, as well as a blackened Conmar for the cigarette pocket. Horsehide Ox tab is also included as standard.

I have looked at that, still trying to find the right light gray cotton, but will let it be known if I find it.

Ah, so it is indeed on the cards?! I am sure you are aware of the current offering from the Scotland based factory. They are charging quite a bit on what they offer... I hope that 'someone' will eventually make an authentic one in the future!!!! ;)

Wow! Beautiful jackets, all! Blown away:

PS. I’m not necessarily in the market for a NASA jacket, but I bet if you made an authentic reproduction it would be a big hit.

SO, I found a US Source for the proper weight 100% cotton-poplin with which to make these jackets a reality. Weirdly that source is even in the midwest!!

Considering these two, blue from the mid 60's and the early 70's khaki version.

Any thoughts gents?
