NSW Highway/bike police leather jacket

Thought I'd share some of my collection of "biker" jackets with the group.....
First off is a NSW police highway jacket made by Babylon Industries NSW sometime in the 80's by the label style used.
Something you don't see everyday (considering the "normal" police leather jacket is hard to find.....)
Been "de-milled" by me when I got it so excuse the pinholes from the shields and the lack of "shiny bits" on the epualettes and pockets.
The main difference between this and the normal police jacket is the lack of any pockets on the jacket,a "fuzzy" backpad,a slimmer taper to the sleeves and body (so that the jacket doesn't bunch or slide up in a skid/slide crash) and a shorter torso of about 4 inches.
Hopefully someone will enjoy

Interesting. I'm curious about the snap buttons on the lower sides of the jacket. Looks like one row facing each way. Some for a belt perhaps? And the others...no idea...

Those snap buttons are for holster access..... though for the last 2 decades most police here do a drop leg/thigh holster (which in my experience is comfortable for vehicle based duties but a utter shit when running)

This is an Aero repro NYPD jacket in Connolly steerhide I picked up last year that was made in the early eighties. It has the side pop studs or snaps.

I think it may well have been one made personally by KC when he was deciding what style to sell and made several different types as samples. They don't make this type now but I think I remember that they still did a decade and a half or so ago.

Below is a period picture of this type of jacket worn with the side snaps undone.

Ahh good to see a longer length US police jacket, most of what I've seen tend to be quite short and somewhat boxy
