NEW IN BOX THE H.D. LEE COMPANY, INC. L-1 LIGHT FLYING SUIT

Not every day you get a WWII uniform in its box. This L-1 Light Flying Suit is from fiscal year, 1945 and still pristine.

It was adopted by the AAF at the end of World War II and it was produced even after their transition to Air Force till 1950. This was the model that established the basic form of subsequent flying suits, such as the pocket configuration that used many zippers and a clip is attached to the left leg to secure a map. The L-1 was made of Olive Drab wool gabardine.

The condition of this example is immaculate, all zippers work perfectly. Left shoulder depicts a color printed ARMY AIR FORCES logo in mint shape retaining its original colors.
The box is in superb condition as well and it is a cool bonus that makes this kit unique.

It’s still hard to believe this example has survived over 78 years untouched.

I had one of these (1980ish) that I would wear sometimes- I was never sure if these were actually used in the war or not. Mine wasn't new in the box but I bet I paid a lot less for it than you for this one
