Gents,

Today we have a NOS example of what some collectors claim is the last of the good series of the G-1; the MIL-J-7823D. This specific example was made by Gregory Sportswear Inc under contract awarded in 1967.

The condition of this jacket is superb and honestly it’s hard to believe it is over 50 years old.
All parts are original to the jacket.
The goatskin leather is supple.
The mouton collar is immaculate.
Inside lining is spotless.
The Scovill zipper looks mint and works perfectly.
The knits are solid. They have a couple tiny moth holes, which is normal due to the nature of the material.

The front pocket still has attached the size tag which is in pristine condition.

These series are extremely comfortable to wear.

That being said, hope you guys enjoy it!

Regards,
Jorge

I very briefly owned a Gregory Sportswear G-1-ordered from Aero’s used page, it was waaay small for its tagged size, and went straight back.
That is interesting, Mikey! In this case, it fits true to the size. And frequently I feel like D series sometimes fit a bit looser compared to the earlier ones. (Pre 1964)

Thanks guys! Gregory's definitely are rare compared to the other D-series, it would be interesting to know how many jackets were made by them.
I tried to research that at one point and came up empty . Production data can be difficult to find on the Gregory, because it was a “one hit wonder “ just had one contract if I remember correctly .
