I got a great deal on this Cagleco because the mouton collar was just a mess. I knew I would have to replace it going in.

I could tell the jacket had good bones though, so I made a deal and got it shipped out.
When it arrived, I found two small holes that the seller did not mention.

After talking with my friend Steve Sellers, my main repair guy, I determined that we should move forward with the restoration.
The jacket was a bit dirty and a little dry in places.

I did a full cleaning and conditioning, and then it was off to Steve for repairs. He just happened to have a matching bit of mouton for it! A stroke of luck because it is a unique shade of golden brown, not the black or rust usually seen on the Cagleco G-1's.

The finished jacket came out fantastic! My clean up job rendered the hide butter soft and supple again. While Steve's expert job on the holes and Mouton made for a seamless restoration. He nailed the colar tips perfectly!
The real star of the show on this jacket is the knits. I have never seen such a mint pair on a vintage G-1.They look brand new and the elastic is tight. Not worn out at all.
