Hey, Edward, here are some more costumes of my daughter and I, a few of her friends too and a few of my ex-gf at different times at Comic Cons.
This was my daughters first costume and first Comic Con. People thought she was doing Assassins Creed. So many people wanted their selfies taken with her that she got overly self-conscious. Sorry for the bad photo quality, my camera was acting funky that day. I actually made everything in her costume except the boots. The leatherwork, the bow I carved out of fiberglass, and I painted it black lacquer with red faded tips as were the arrows.
My girlfriend Kara had just moved in with us and totally game to be in character that she actually shaved her head for her role as the tracker/ bounty hunter in my screen play. I thought she looked pretty bad ass with the shaved head. Ignore the cosplay girl that is just Jennifer Van Damsel who's a regular at Shows. I also made all of Kara's leather work, arm guards with LED's and her weaponry.....just like the phase rifle I made for my daughter which had both altering LED colors and pulsing sound effects. The rifle Kara used had LED's pulsing as well as a scope/LED targeting and a static discharge when triggered. It took me a month to make her rifle and was so realistic the Police almost took it apart to make sure it was not a functioning rifle.

I am envious of your collection Edward. It is awesome and is just how I remembered my father's office when we were living at Camp Lejeune. I wish I had my father's collection from WW2, Korea and Vietnam. He had it in storage and someone broke in and stole it all. Uniforms, medals, camo while on Iwo Jima, all the souvenirs he brought back and so forth.

Wow this is amazing! Great costumes and prop work! Now i have to say the most valuable player award goes to Kara for her complete dedication! That is indeed badass!!!

Thank you. It came out of loneliness, depression and a need to fill a hole.
temporary happiness… I usually shun having to many “things” but it does add character to my flat that is otherwise a quiet shoebox apartment. I always liked all things 1940s so its a tangible realization of my interests and a fun tactile experience lol!Rory Schultz

I know what you mean about that gut wrenching loneliness. My first love and her twin sister were killed by a drunk driver in 1978. Oh I met other women had love for them and was married several times, but it was just not the same. Nothing has ever filled that void, so I know all about it. Like being in room full of people and still feel isolated. Brother, I know what you are feeling!!

I had a bit of trouble locating this item often seen in WWII mess halls… I kept searching for oil and vinegar bottles and could never find this particular style of item until I accidentally came across a listing for a Vintage barbershop hair tonic bottle! Exact match! It has a porcelain pour spout attached to a cork topper which would make sense as normal vinegar bottles have just a glass topper that would easily get lost or dropped whereas the cork topper would stay in place as you poured your oil and vinegar at a busy mess hall table… It never occurred to me the military would repurpose hair tonic bottles for use as vinegar bottles! Lol!This one is new old stock-never used and matches photographs I have found of this item in World War II army and navy mess halls.

The Ace Pilot 402-V “Wartime Standard Model“ Victory stapler with a wood base! circa 1943
Like many manufacturers a slight remodeling of their offerings needed to be made due to war time rationing.
All steel parts (no aluminum, chromium, or other rationed metals) on a wood base. Still functions properly and is in pretty decent shape. (There is also the Ace Scout Model 202-V with a wood base but haven’t seen one in the wild yet. )
The Ace Pilot was developed in the early 1930s and is largely unchanged to this day. Very common and vintage staplers are easy to come by but the wood base victory model is hard to find.

The diner items when I traveled a lot in the South along Louisiana there are roadside diners and those are used a great deal.
I saw some of those very items about 9 years ago in New Orleans.
