That seems like a lot of money for just a pull and a box ,I am sure that they could be fitted to an
existing zip teeth already available .

What does this mean / Wouldn't shere the zippers though .

We've investigagted that, if it's worth doing it's worth doing properly

If do go for these why would we sell them on to McCoy, Eastman, Five Star etc etc etc

Who for the love of all that is holy spends 3,000 quid on a repro Irvin that isn't even accurate????!!!!

Rhetorical question! I know, I know it's the same vein as those cashed up dipshits that buy one of those fluorescent blue "B-3" jackets that Chapel flog.

I just don't get it though, if you were paying that kind of money for something as niche and specialised as a reproduction flying jacket you think you'd go for a more "accurate" repop or if you just wanted the "style" then an Aviation Leathercraft or suchlike for a fraction of that price.

The longer I've been into this stuff the sillier it seems to get with some companies.

It shows that the buying public does not do their homework ,or even care if its accurate .We are in the minority with regards to correct details ,the Real McCoys understands its market. The market research estimated what the punters will pay , and make up a nice story that will be not challenged .Voila let the money roll in easier than counterfeiting printing money and its legal . Market research is a powerful tool with regards to profit has nothing to do with what it costs to make but about how far you can push the price and the punters will pay .

To put this into perspective I made an enquiry regarding a size 42 B3 at the London shop. They only have one. Previously they were only available as a non returnable order from Japan.
I don't see McCoys selling more than a handful of these 'Irvins'

I guess I’ll never understand the mentality of buying a repro at those prices, when for about the same price or a couple of hundred more an original could be had in fairly acceptable condition . In 10 years the repro will be worth about half its value, while the original will continue to appreciate . Just my thoughts on it all.

OR TO PLAY THE DEVILS ADVOCATE , in ten years time the same jacket will cost $11,500 and the $3500 jacket here will still be worth what you paid for it or more ? .

I think a decent original is about a third of the price or less
