Hmm just sent a simple question If it is possible to get a sample of goatskin used in jackets provided by one vendor.
Seems I should take more lessons in law school to understand, but I also quess I could get an sample.
In a way I like Scottish way to do business ;) when I actually have not ordered anything :)

IMPORTANT NOTICE (PLEASE READ)

Please note, jacket delivery estimates are valid for only 48 hours
after they are given. Furthermore, estimates are given in good faith,
without guarantee, all going well and unforeseen circumstances always
excepted.

Due to current heavy workload we cannot follow up anymore email
exchanges of more than 10 messages. Despite our previous plea not to
send us 50 emails before you decide what to order, the numbers have
increased to more than 100 emails lately. You are not buying a house.
You are buying a jacket. It has to be simpler. We firmly believe that
maximum 10 messages are more than enough to communicate to us exactly
what you need. In the future, upon receiving the 11th email from a
customer, we reserve our right to stop all communications and
cancelling the order. Furthermore, changing the specifics of the order
more than 3 times during the ordering process by email will be
considered as lack of seriousness by the customer and the order will
be ignored.

Moreover, we regret to announce that orders for fully customized
jackets will no longer be accepted. The reason is some customers for
whom we went the extra mile (or better say the extra league) and to
whom we offered and provided, custom made leathers, in custom colors,
with artificial distressing, custom made zippers, extinct NOS zippers,
(in custom colors), custom made hardware, original vintage woven
labels, custom made patterns, new unique designs ect, proved to be
"not pleased with anything" and caused us nothing but grief, loss of
time, frustration and financial loss.


IMPORTANT NOTICE NO 2 (PLEASE READ):

Our Liberty horsehide is specifically made to be an exact match to
WWII era leather. That means it will appear the same and it will also
age the same way, i.e. it will quickly show edge wear and the finish
will fade in a way that it will resemble vintage jackets. THIS IS BY
NO MEANS A DEFECT OF THE LEATHER. We put a lot of money time and
energy into developing these leathers. They are something special that
nobody else in the market can offer. The reason we did it was popular
demand. Our customers were tired of jackets that didn't age and
remained like brand new even after years of wear. They were tired of
trying to artificially distress their jackets by (HWT) hot water
treatment, sanding, rubbing with alcohol, dragging behind their cars,
or even looking to buy already distressed jackets from the vendors. We
needed to create a leather that would have all the qualities that
vintage jacket fans are looking for. In the old days people bought one
jacket and had it for all their lives. They wore only that and it saw
a lot of wear. But nowadays jacket collectors have many jackets to
switch between so each of their jacket sees a lot less wear. As such,
aging process becomes really really slow. Also, with the modern
tanning methods it would take ages for a jacket to start aging. Our
older customers wouldn’t have 10 years or so to wait until their
jackets become to appear vintage. They plead that we bring back the
old type of leathers so that the aging process can once more be
accelerated. Jackets made with Liberty horsehide are the closest thing
to originals ever made. They will appear like NOS (new old stock)
unworn originals and will age fast like originals did. By ordering
jackets made with this leather from us you UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT ALL
THE ABOVE.

we aim to reply within 10 minutes it's not always possible as we are

In case we take unusually long to reply to you, something could have

Also, please note, you make our life a lot easier if you tell us what
you want in 2 emails. We have customers who send us more than 50
emails one page long each, and talk to us for months until they place
their order. While we enjoy a good conversation, it is practically
impossible to keep up and in the end becomes frustrating. Also, the
possibility that a mistake is made from our part is significantly
increased if you keep changing what you want in every email. Please
make up your mind first and then let us know. Please try to make your
requests as less confusing as possible. Keep in mind, we may be
talking to another 10-20 demanding customers just like you at the same
time. We are here to help, answer all your questions, but we need your

Certainly don’t sound like a friendly bunch but having dealt with a few “Collectors” with other types of collectables, I can understand how they can make you crazy with their questions and demands. I wonder why the 11th email and not the 10th or the 12th email.

I think what he’s saying is that he’ll exchange 10 emails back and forth with you about sizing, but after that he’ll stop responding. It’s an arbitrary number, but it makes sense. Andy rarely needs more than 5 emails to get your size. The customer who keeps going back and forth past 10 is likely fretting and keeping them from getting their work done.

My point was just on so "detail oriented" reply. Not so used to that, including video links etc. In my shallow world of experiences of vendors hmm this reply was really better than perfect :)

What’s your point?
Short questions - short answers. That was the point. Words and terms of conditions are limitless. No need to say everything about everything in first mail/phrase/connection. That kind of approaching can even build a feeling like disturbing vendor one approached. For me it was just amusing and still is. Like readin a lawsuit :)
