What size boots did you buy ? Did you have a choice on size ? Did you buy bigger or smaller or what you normally wear ?

UPDATE:
Well the $70.00 Ralph Lauren Rough Out boots arrived today and they are no shit awesome!!
They easily rival all other WWII repro rough out boots out there in the $275.00 price range. The soles are raw corded soles, similar to USMC boondockers and the uppers are 100% quality leather. They are dark rough outs but if you dubb them with snow seal or another type of dubbing the dark color is inconsequential as they will darken anyway. I can’t say enough about these boots as to their quality and once I cut off the rear pull strap and RL logo tag these are as good as any WWII repro boot. As I’ve said several times before we are going for a look here and period authenticity isn’t the goal , but these would fill the requirement there as well. Check them out for yourself and let me know what you guys think. :)

And final photos with all Ralph Lauren labels and markings removed . Boots Look like every other high end repro M-43 boot thats being sold for $275.00. These are definitely an option if you want a quality repro Rough Out boot at a crazy low price. Ok so we are waiting for our next item which is a slate blue sweatshirt , so far the Virgil Hilts on a budget impression is moving ahead nicely . Stay tuned to this thread for more. :)

Those boots look very cool B-man2 and well worth their price. I kinda like the boot pulls but get why they had to go in the context of your project.

I wouldn't worry about the historical accuracy point...the wardrobe department for the film didn't! :D ;)
You’re spot on.... the funny thing is that during the motorcycle scenes he didn’t wear rough out M-1943 boots but instead wore 8 inch high boots .

UPDATE:
Today I received a fairly good copy of the Virgil Hilts Sweatshirt . The color is pretty damn close and I just need to cut the sleeves off and throw it in the wash a couple of times and a few cycles in the dryer for that faded worn look. For those of you who might be interested the shirt was purchased for a whooping $11.88 with free shipping from Amazon . A huge savings over the prices being charged a few years back, which I believe were near the $100.00 mark. So let’s total up our expenditures to see if we are staying close to our $250.00 budget .
Boots ................$70.00
Pants ................$27.29
Sweat Shirt........,.$11.88
Total..................$109.17
Budget Balance ....$140.83
Ok, as you can see the budget is getting very tight and we still have to purchase a vintage baseball glove and an A2 jacket that can be made into a Hilts repro. Right about now I’m thinking It’s going to take a miracle to hold to the $250.50 budget.
