These are the most disgusting pictures in history as far as I’m concerned. The British poiliceman in the pictures may very well not have known what was going on in 1940 but nazisim in whatever form is repugnant and it’s appalling.

I’m no socialist but I’d rather die fighting than send one single cell of a child to a death camp like these disgusting pigs did. Filth, please don’t post such pics here.

Get rid, sorry pilot Your a great guy but these pictures revolt me. Fuckin’ trash of humanity, don’t give ‘em air time.

What's happened? I have a couple of chaps on ignore so I might be missing some posts here...

EDIT: Just gone in and seen what had happened.

I totally agree with Stanier. Very, very bad taste and very, very poor form.

Kind of reinforces why I'd used the Ignore feature in the first place.

Am I missing some hidden meaning behind the post with photos from the Channel Islands of the British policeman and German officer?

Bad taste. The thread was about British pluck during the dark days and very near mainland invasion of 1940. Quite perversely subverted by having pictures of a British Bobby with one of the German occupation forces on the Channel Island who were responsible for the deportation and subsequent deaths of several dozen to death camps. Not the best of looks.

The Channel Islands were invaded in 1940, at a time when there was a notion, possibly, of gentlemen’s war. Point is, there was ultimately no thinking gentlemenly from nazi trash. It was kill or be killed, they killed women, children, the old and the very young, for no reason other than sheer inhuman stupidity, there can never be a reason. We don’t need pics in some way romanticising now. For me, I politely decline (!) UK labour socialist politics now, but I’d fight alongside them shoulder to shoulder against nazi trash. Disgusting and get rid.

Indeed and agree. Was hoping for an explanation from Pilot in case my interpretation* of the post was incorrect and I had missed some hidden nuance.

*Which coincides with yours.

I did never see the pictures in question. My comment referred to the picture in the thread's first post...
