James Dean Commemorative Schott

I recently purchased this jacket in the hopes that it would fit my wife but once again it did not. I am currently selling this jacket to a member of the Schott Blog site but thought I would post some pictures of it here because it is a very cool piece. Made in 1985 it's hardly vintage but it is a duplicate of a 50's era jacket and piece of history. This is a JD-1 licensed by the James Dean Foundation for Schott to make an exact duplicate of the jacket he used to wear while riding. They actually made 2 versions of the jacket. The JD-2 was made from steer hide with aluminum appointments, nylon blend lining and a fake fur detachable collar. This one is the JD-1 which was made from horsehide, brass appointments, satin liner and a mouton detachable collar. As well the JD-1 came with the duplicate belt to that of which Dean accessories his own jacket with. The last two pics are JD in front of Schwab's Drugstore Hollywood CA. in 1955.

I am a huge James Dean fan - that is a sweet jacket. It's too bad that the size didn't work out; good luck with your sale. Thanks for posting those pictures.
