I remember my very first A-2. A goatskin commemorative Edition Cooper. Was a great little jacket, but even then, the sleeves felt a bit short and it bugged the hell out me.
How far I've come (or have I?) ;)

I'm changing in terms of what I think is important now. When I first got into flying jackets around 2006, what I wanted was ultimate accuracy, now I seem to be more willing to have a certain degree of trade off with that in terms of price and fit and feel when it comes to repros. If I want ultimate accuracy I'd buy an original.

I'm not a fighter pilot in WWII nor am I doing a reenactment for an airshow so I'm more interested in how something fits and wears than is the stitch count on the pockets exactly correct kind of stuff. Probably blasphemy for some but close enough is good enough for me now. For example I have two ATF B-10s which I love. The lining is not historically correct on them but do I give a shit? Nope.

I'm not far behind. As mentioned above, I think for me, the main factor is fit. I hate short sleeves. So I NEED to have some length added.
As much as I love my high end A-2s, the jacket I wore the most over the last 6 months was that 2019 AVI. Go figure...

London cabbie its usually customary to post at least thirty to fifty pictures of a personal jacket with some taken from the ground pointing up and some from above pointing down ,for this someone has to lay on their back on the ground and take the picture of you wearing the jacket, make sure you blow your nose before . Top view you would need a bucket hoist or lean out of a window will work. Some pictures of you walking backwards so we can see the fit of the back would be nice .

Further to that, don't forget to adopt the appropriate facial expression - be it a determined searching for a far away object, a glare as if sizing up an opponent, a casual somewhat wistful focus on something or other a la Johnny Depp, the British embarrassed half smile directly into the lens, or brash open faced laughing to expose rows of pearly white gnashers or even the cropping of the majority of the face altogether ....the choice is yours, but do try to avoid the sheepish gaze akin to a rabbit caught in the headlamps of a fast approaching car as it waits, unable to move, until the vehicle removes any choice in the matter.
