Is this a real ww2 irvin?

As above, a post war replica, can be identified by many missing features.
Lack of under arm vents.
No seam down the back panel.
The collar strap is too wide, it is two pieces sewn together and the fastner is a buckle not O rings.
The binding strips are too wide.
The list goes on, but the weather flap looks wrong and the sleeves look like they have been messed about with.

I am not an expert but in my opinion it would be wise to steer clear of that one !, there are plenty more genuine jackets still in existance.

Yes as above it's all wrong .
I would say it was a pair of Irvin trousers.
You do get the odd one where the panel's don't line up but is due to shortage of fleece.
This is one of mine Genuine Irvins.

I think you are right Chris, the fleece does look of the right period, and that collar strap could be a modified trouser belt and buckle, your example looks to be in better condition and of better proportions.
