Yeah while I was working the leather it literally just fell apart. Once I saw how nice the leather (the good part) was I decided to stay on track with the project. But I have to find a way to restore the top part of that collar while avoiding something too apparent, it has to fade in in some way...

replace the inside top collar with either a] sourced vintage hh or moo, or b] new hides to match the existing hides. that inside of the collar is shot, and not worth a plug nickel. period

Victor, I was going with the vintage hh or moo option as the leather will show, with luck, a similar texture helped with some extra care. Thing is the Dubow has a lot of depth showing hues of red and brown. It's going to be hard to match but, hey that's the fun part of a restoration project...
