The zipper alone is worth way more than that. Excellent deal on this one Peter. If the zipper is original to the jacket that would make it an early 1940s jacket.

The jacket arrived today and I'm delighted with it. It's made of goatskin and fits like a generous 38. The zipper is the oriiginal military spec Talon and the nipple snaps are United Carr. The knits are also original and in pretty good shape. This is the first civilian A-2 that I've seen that is identical in construction to an issued jacket and judging by this and the fittings and zipper I reckon that it's probably a wartime private purchace jacket, until someone comes along and says that Windward did not exist in WW2 ! Best $30 I've ever spent.
Does anyone have any good advice on getting rid of the paint from the back ?
