Gone, but not forgotten.
Yes, not the trousers, and the boots might be a bit much for street wear ... but the jacket's great.

Great blog if you like vintage motos and most anything vintage mechanical.
He covers local California rides , big hoity-toity Pebble Beach-type events, auctions, and even overseas bike/auto shows.
That getup is not out of character for him at all considering his preference for pre-war British bikes. It's hard to read his blog and not learn something.

Yes, good site ... here's the Lewis Leathers page:

  • Derek knows my interest in vintage riding gear (my preferred coverage in fact), and pulled from his archive their oldest intact set of racing leathers and boots, from the 1940s. Identical to the set used in their current advertising campaign, LL have only this summer begun to re-produce this jacket, although not yet the pants. While this particular outfit has become fragile with age, Derek was kind enough to allow me wear it for Marcus' photo shoot. Yes, they fit! Apparently, I need a set... as Montlhéry, and Bonneville, are beckoning...

The Universal Racing suit is indeed up & running again, we received a final sample last week and will have a couple in stock from next week. We've done the usual deep research on this one and have even used army blanket for padding on the shoulders, elbows & knees/hips, correct lining and even WW2 period Urea buttons, identical to those used on the vintage suits.
Here is a link to a recent blog posting on the suit, we'll reveal photos of the remade Universal Racer suit shortly.

That's a killer jacket! The trousers would be good too (for riding only!). That "Once Was England" site mentioned that Lewis Leathers is going to give the customer the choice of heavy sheep leather or cowhide. I think a heavy sheepskin version of this jacket would be simply amazing.
