How are "bootleggers" supposed to be fitted?

So I've got a quick question....
How is a well fitted "bootlegger" coat supposed to fit?
My most recent arrival is a tagged 48 yet seems to be a hell of a lot more restrictive than my 44's and 46's in A2,G1 and my various motorcycle jackets

After trying on my other jackets that have similar measurements....I haven't mysteriously put on 20kgs overnight....so I can rule that out lol

Ahhh so it should be like my MC jackets....trim and tailored but not "I'm wearing a sausage skin AKA mushmans A1 publicity shots "
From what I can figure out it's the insane amount of quilted lining that I've never had in a jacket before.....the measurements are probably a inch or two smaller due to the thick liner..... basically a reverse TARDIS lol

I'm not sure 'Bootleggers' is the correct term for this jacket. This looks like a late 40s Windward long halfbelt to me.

It does look a little bit tight on you, one size up would have been perfect.

This is how I wear mine, a 50s Sears Hercules long halfbelt.

Totally in my humble opinion I’d say it’s too tight and too short in the sleeve length. B-man2 has demonstrated, to me, an ideal fit.

I returned it to the seller a few weeks ago.
Ended up getting a similar coat from a UK based fleaBay seller and should be here by the end of the week...... and a third(ish) hand Aero A1 lookalike
