Hey everyone,

I’m looking at a used Aero highwayman jacket. I’ve attached some photos below and wanted opinions of fellow members. Apologize for the lousy seller photos...

I own a Highwayman in front quarter horse and love it, the steer ones used to command a lower price used, not sure if that's still the case, jacket looks good though.

I’d say, if you can get it at a good price, go for it. Not sure the steerhide will be as nice as horse, since Ken seems particularly proud of Aero’s horsehide, but the cowhide ages nicely, so if it’s had some use and abuse it should still be a nice jacket.

i thought cow was lighter and softer but is Aero’s steer still much nicer than regular cowhide jackets?

Aero's steer is wonderful stuff every bit the equal of the horse just different. I have a Cheyenne in the black which is heavier than the hh and has far more grain to it, again an awesome leather but I understand the weight isn't for everyone.

Glad to hear. The seller price is reasonable and the size (40) seems small but the posted measurements actually seem like they could fit me. I’m going to go for it and worst case scenario, I’ll sell it to one of you gents for a great deal ;)

Yeah, I’ve noticed when looking at measurements on the Highwayman, that they tend to run about 2 sizes smaller than what I would wear in A-2 jackets. Sounds like you’re finding the same thing.

The issue is having arms like an orangutan and a long torso so it makes used jackets difficult at times...Appreciate your help!

Well I bought it...let’s see how this turns out! All the research I did pointed towards it actually being slightly too roomy but we’ll see.

Got a few better photos prior to shipping. Should get here fairly quickly hopefully.
