I do the same thing, I never pull on the knit sleeves.

ill do it on my MA-1 because its lighter and the knits are different but never on my A-2

Remember that, back in the days, even rain coats were made in leather. When my leather jackets get soaked in the rain I just leave them to dry on the balcony (after removing most of the water with a towel).

Just don't put a leather garment, boots or item near a direct source of heat to dry out. The potential transformation into something shrunken, stiff and crispy is likely to spoil your day.
