Yep, I just got home and my jaw basically hit the floor on the price of the strap! With all the bits and pieces at their current prices, I've already made 100.00 US profit on the frankenirvin, and got 3 great zips out of it. And still 2 hours to go!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D 168.00 GBP. Simply selling the strap has given me a a profit roughly 140.00 US on the original price i paid for the jacket. I await the other auctions with eager anticipation....

That is absolutely mad ! To put things in perspective I recently paid £47 more for a very nice pre war Irvin (minus collar strap !), £7 more for a near mint B-10 and £45 less for a near mint B-9 !!

I spent £120 on a Spider-Man comic once - issue 9, first appearance of Electro. I must have been nuts - problem
was, at the time I wanted it so badly, I probably convinced myself I was getting a bargain. These things are what we
make them I guess.

After all is set and done with it looks like I made a 300.00 US profit on that awful, shaved out wreck of a jacket, and I still have a bunch of seam tapes, some usable sheepskin and three top condition zippers to show for it. Just goes to show you how unpredictable and volatile ebay can be sometimes.
FYI, the winning bidder on the strap was from Mexico, interesting as I thought for sure it would be going to the UK, like all the other pieces look to be going.

Not many of us in the UK have that sort of money to shell out on elastic collar straps, thanks to our wonderful government and their crippling taxes. :x

This guy has been a high bidder on a couple of Irvins I have sold recently, but he has always been outbid. He seems to specialise in wildly inflating the price of a jacket. Long may this last!
