German ww2 "Reichsverteidigungsjacke" or the first Jet - Pilot jacket

On the original jackets we often see almost purple collars. But it seems to me that this is due to the discoloration of the collar which was originally dark blue (almost black).

The discolouration from blue to purple is the effect of UV (so light) on the collar. It's exactly the same principle how a B-15C shell will discolour towards purple over time. Just like how white things will discolour to yellow tones over time, blue things will often change to the more purple shades and especially dependent on ambient lighting levels.

Could be "Original-flightjackets.com". I remember they changed their name some years ago, could have been "Original-Fliegerjacken.de" before. Unfortunately their current offers are not very interesting.
Yes owned by two people. One if them left and then the company completely changed.

John, did the jacket have a collar?
I remember visiting their store back in 2013 (it's where I bought my Bundesluftwaffe jacket in navy-blue) and asking them for the "Arado" or "Messerschmitt" style jacket they used to sell on their website and didn't offer anymore online.
They actually still had a few in stock and they offered me a jacket that was very similar to a collarless "Reichsverteidigung"-jacket. It was in russet'ish brown IIRC.

I don't get the sense here. Why do they have some pretty nice jackets and don't put them on the website between all that 0815 cockpit stuff.

Don't think they make them anymore.
Aero sales page has a winter kanaljacke they used to make for them.

I SEE THE JACKET YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT JOHN ,one thing that strikes me on the sale page stock used vintage is the varied jackets that Aero make .I can see what Ken means when he said the military jacket is just a small piece of the business .

Something most people forget when discussing repros. Aero are primarily a civil jacket maker

Little question for the specialists of this jacket: the sleeve end zipper is secured by button on the repro, most original I see have a prym snap here. Have you ever seen original ones with button?

After approx. mid.1944 almost no metal anymore available for clothing... so synthetic zips and buttons.

We can make both versions with WW2 NOS „Prym 6 „ snaps and WW2 NOS metal „Zipp“ zippers, hence an early version or the full synthetic with buttons and plastic zipper version... we have white or dark green NOS WW2 Ri-Ri synthetic zippers.

Auf den Originaljacken sehen wir oft fast lila Kragen. Aber es scheint mir, dass dies auf die Verfärbung des Kragens zurückzuführen ist, der ursprünglich dunkelblau (fast schwarz) war.
