Gents,

Today I would like to share a mint example of the G-1 from the first series of the 7823. This contract N383-39321A was awarded by Cagleco Sportswear in fiscal year, 1957.

Cagleco Sportswear had 6 contracts for the G-1 from 1954 to 1957 before they changed their name to renowned Ralph Edwards Sportswear.

Finding this example in nearly new condition after more than 64 years was exciting. I had previously owned 2 examples of this specific contract and they were in excellent condition as well, but this one is hard to surpass.

The goatskin leather is in mint condition. All parts are genuine to the jacket. Mouton collar is immaculate and shows an amazing shade of honey. Knits are pristine, which is rare. Conmar zipper is working perfectly.
"USN" stencil under the collar looks sharp.

Say no more guys, enjoy the pics.
Have a great Sunday!

Regards,
Jorge

Nice! These were well made no doubt. I have it's little brother here in a 40. Mint now after a little work. I posted a thread on it recently. Original knits don't get better than this!

Ive got two Cagleco’s, one I would suggest is on par with yours, the other has battle scars! The latter has some nicks in the shoulder areas that are possibly harness abrasions but who knows and unfortunately a few moth holes but not worth replacing, both have great mouton collars!! Love ‘em!!!
