Stunning pictures! They make my ATC novelty patch seem pretty tame in comparison! Thanks for posting them again.

NOW this is great and sucky both at the same time. I have had that picturesite saved in my bookmark menu for sometime now.
Used to be when you clicked on one of the pics you could view a nice size scan of those photographs but now you just get code.

I went ahead and found the image hosting site and just saved the pics full size ...but still that sucks.

Hmmm. I get the same thing. Just a bunch of code. Could it be something to do with browsing with Safari?

On the first page with these photos there is a jacket with the caption "Gaposis";
Can anyone enlighten me as to its meaning? Just curious. When learning a language (even your mother tongue) there are some things you just have to be told, you cannot deduce them without context. For instance, it took me some time to discover that "The Windy City" is Chicago. So Gents: Gaposis....

Where are they all now? Makes you wonder what is bought and sold out of sight of the usual avenues. Amazing work.

Here's one from my collection. It's featured in a few books, and on the website. The jacket belonged to J.H. Wickline of the 401st BG. He was the ball turret gunner on Shade Ruff. This group is very famous for extravegantly painting their jackets.
The flak bursts blowing up the skirt are faded away from their original state. I always thought it was a cool theme!

Great looking jacket Jeff,

I only have two but i really love this one.

This is Rat Poison. A Roughwear 27752. 34th BG, 4 Sqn based at Mendlesham. It is missing its Squadron patch of the Black widow and it's had a set of 3" sterling wings pinned in two locations, probably airgunners or aircrew.

The Crew flying War Eagle. The guy on the left was a replacement. I suspect this is his jacket and it was knocked up quickly for him. It's far less elaborate from all the other original crewmen's. Looking at the flight logs there were a number of replacement Crewmen who may have had this produced. This crew also flew a number of other aircraft on a regular basis.

The end of the road for Rat Poison. Forced landing in Belgium.

This is the Skipper's, all the crew had different subject matter with a cat representing their different positions. It's so different from mine.

Here's my other painted A-2. An Aero 18775-P. Veteran of 69 missions in Marauders. That really is a lot of times with your bum in danger. It's such a shame more of the artwork didn't survive but then again It wouldn't be in my hands if it had did. The plane was called "6 hits and a Miss" and featured a sexy female reclining. I've not had any luck yet with finding the owner or a relative but i'm getting closer I hope but if he is still alive he'd be 94.

This is something I made up in Photoshop to be framed with a Squadron patch. The idea was to put as much info as possible onto a small card. If I can i'm doing it with my others as well.

Nice jackets Andrew. Excellent to have all the info like you do on the Rat Poison jacket!
That card is a great idea. I should really look in to doing something like that!

Wow- Two example of the infamous "seam on the top of the collar"!! I've seen these in photos but never in real life! Now here are two both from famous makers- I guess they weren't from some mysterious contract like I suspected. Interesting!

This is a shot of my GW USL with it's freshly completed livery held up by the Artist of the work just prior to shipping yesterday.

He's a Legend and the process has been one of the most rewarding FJ experiences i've had. From what I have seen the work is simple and honest and is a direct copy of his own jacket. He has also been inspired by the process which is really great. It's taken about 3 months and all discussions were through his wonderfuliy cool daughter but it will be back here in a few days hopefully. I'll post more pics and story when it arrives.....I'll also post some shots of his own jacket when I receive them too.
